O2 #WearTheRose
Brand Activation
A brand experience to celebrate the launch of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and to give fans the opportunity to play their own part by sending their messages of support for the England team, using London’s O2 dome as a canvas.
Promoting O2’s partnership with England Rugby, the event made use of 68 projectors and more than 122 moving head light fixtures to create a number of 3D illusions - a show which the sponsor claims could be seen from space!
I joined London’s TVCGroup crew as a producer and video editor, where atop the massive projection we filmed England Rugby official singer Laura Wright performing the rousing hymn ‘Jerusalem’ from the roof of The O2, culminating with the singer being ‘engulfed’ in a giant red rose.
Global rugby fans tweeted over 14,500 messages on the iconic dome and generated 3.5m impressions across social media channels, while the event stirred up 521,000 organic video views of the Rose on the Roof video content and an inferno of press coverage in national newspapers and on primetime TV.
